Leading with the pointBLUF

Definition

Stating your conclusion first, then the reasons behind it — known in English as BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front).

In depth

It spares the listener from waiting for 'so what's the point?', which lands especially well with busy interviewers and managers. Because it's the opposite of a build-up-to-the-conclusion habit, it takes conscious practice to make it automatic.

Tip

Check whether your very first sentence already contains the conclusion.
